Enchanted Evening with Joyce Maynard on July 10th!
The Friends of the Delaware County District Library are thrilled to host NYT best selling author Joyce Maynard for the release of her new novel How the Light Gets In during an enchanted evening at the The Dempsey Event Center. In addition to her storied career as a writer of books about family, love and loss, Joyce is also revered for her memoir writing and healing workshops.
The evening will start in the Sanctuary with demonstrations of Chi Gong and Singing Bowls by experts from the Dempsey Event Center. Joyce will speak about her new novel and be in conversation with local writing legend Lee Martin, a professor at The Ohio State University.
After the presentations, guests will enjoy wine and charcuterie, and have the opportunity to further explore the healing properties of Chi Gong and Singing Bowls. Visitors can also join in making a “cork person” featured in Count the Ways and tour the herb gardens on the beautiful grounds of the historic Dempsey Center. Each ticket will include a copy of How the Light Gets In. Additional titles will be available for purchase and signing from Beanbag Books.
Joyce Maynard is the author of eighteen books, including the New York Times bestselling novels, Labor Day and To Die For (both adapted for film), Under the Influence and the memoirs, At Home in the World and The Best of Us.
Event tickets, which include refreshments and a copy of How the Light Gets In, are $55. Friends of DCDL, check your email for a discount promo code!
